Work through queue, connection and driver checks before reinstalling everything.
Check the queue
Confirm the intended printer is selected and that the job is not paused or stuck behind another document. Cancel a stalled job only after checking that it is safe to do so.
Verify connection
For USB printers, check the cable and port. For wireless models, confirm that the printer and computer are connected to the expected network. Restart both devices if the manufacturer recommends it.
Use official drivers
Download drivers only from the printer maker’s official support website. Avoid driver-updater ads and third-party download pages that bundle unrelated software.
Test a simple page
Print a test page from the operating system or printer settings. If the test page works but one app does not, troubleshoot that app before changing system-wide settings.
Back up important files before making significant changes. Never share passwords, payment details or one-time security codes with unexpected callers or pop-ups.
